childAfter School Program

This program is funded by the Local Management Board and is held in conjunction with the ACCESS program at Mills-Parole Elementary School. This program allows the Center to provide a safe after school environment for Pre-K through 5th grade children. The program focuses on tutoring, arts and crafts, parenting support activities and social interaction.

person readingLiteracy Program

The Center of Help offers literacy classes each Tuesday and Thursday. Students are also referred to classes at Anne Arundel Community College and OIC.

(The Healthy Mom)

A prenatal class which addresses nutrition during pregnancy, relaxation, techniques and the early weeks after birth. This program is co sponsored by the Anne Arundel Medical Center and the March of Dimes.

coatWinter Coat Program

For those lacking winter coats and other warm winter clothing, the Center receives donations from the Chesapeake School, the Annapolis Police Department, the Junior League of Annapolis, as well as local schools and residents.

Volunteer attorneys specializing in family law, criminal law, immigration and employment law advise clients oat the Center three times per month. One morning each mont a family practice physician receives patients at the Center.

familyStrengthening Families

The program offers a series of family-oriented parenting workshops designed specifically for this Hispanic community. The program is run in coordination with the Anne Arundel County Department of Adolescent and Family Services.

manReferral and Assistance Program

This is the anchor program of the Center. It assists non-English speakers in understanding the availability of basic services, such as clothing food, and affordable housing. Referrals to outside resources are provided for needs related to employment, education, finance, immigration, criminal justice concerns and more.

childSummer School Preparedness Classes

This summer program is aimed at preparing first time Spanish-speaking pre-K through first graders for their first scholastic experience.

doctorHealth Workshops

In association with volunteer health professionals and the Anne Arundel County Health Department, the Center offers health screening program and workshops on breast and cervical cancer, HIV prevention, smoking cessation, drug abuse, and childhood illnesses.

turkeyTurkey Giveaway

In collaboration with St. Mary's church turkeys and other food items are distributed for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
